In 1988, a group of dedicated social workers, including Sh. Ram Swaroop Sharma, Sh. Sansar Chand, Sh. Ashwani Sood, Sh. Pahar Singh, Sh. Tilak Behl, Sh. Kanshi Ram, and other members, envisioned the establishment of Saraswati Vidya Mandir. Their dream became a reality in Balakrupi in 1988, initially starting with a Nursery class. Over the years, the institution underwent upgrades, reaching the primary standard in 1993 and the middle standard in 1996. A remarkable milestone was achieved in 1996 when esteemed social worker Col. Ganga Ram Jamwal was appointed Chairman of the School Committee. Under Sh. Jamwal's leadership, the institution flourished, leading to further upgrades, and ultimately reaching the Matric level in 1999.
In the same year, through the efforts of the committee members, the school acquired a land of 2 bighas and 4 vishwas, and construction of the school building commenced in April 2000. By April 2001, classes from 6th to 10th were shifted from the rented place, and in 2003, all classes were relocated to the new school complex. The school displayed excellent results in the Himachal School Education Board examinations. Currently, the school offers education up to the 10th standard, providing facilities such as transportation, an IT lab, a science lab, Mexus Smart Class, a library, and well-furnished classrooms.
The school remains dedicated to pursuing excellence and fostering application-based learning. The teaching methodology emphasizes values, logical thinking, creativity, and excellence, complemented by a communicative approach to language teaching. Integrated learning and the integration of technology with education are given special emphasis
